The Department of Electrical Engineering on Thursday (22/06/2023) received visits from the Electrical Engineering Department of Sriwijaya University and Jember State University. The visits from the two universities were each to discuss the implementation of Outcome Based Education (OBE) in the Undergraduate Study Program (S1) and conduct benchmarking related to the development of the Electrical Engineering Masters Study Program (S2) at Diponegoro University. The team from Sriwijaya University led by Dr. Ir. Bhakti Yuidho Suprapto, S.T., M.T., IPM as Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty along with five other lecturers. Meanwhile, the team from Jember State University consisted of three people led by Khairul Anam, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. as Chair of the Electrical Engineering Masters Study Program.
In his remarks the head of the Undip Electrical Engineering Department welcomed the arrival of the two groups to be able to synergize and work together both in the fields of education and research. From Undip, the Deputy Dean for Resources for the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Ir. Abdul Syakur, S.T., M.T., IPU, said that the three universities that were present in this comparative study activity could share their experiences in implementing higher education dharma that had been carried out in their respective countries. We both gain knowledge from each other for the advancement of the field of Electrical Engineering.
Presentation regarding Capstone Design OBE was given by the Head of the Electrical Engineering Study Program, Munawar Agus Riyadi S.T., M.T., Ph.D. Munawar conveyed that the most important thing in OBE implementation is continuous improvement. In implementing IABEE accreditation, the priority is an ongoing process. In addition, in discussions related to benchmarking the development of the Electrical Engineering Masters study program at Undip, the Head of the Electrical Engineering Masters Study Program, M. Facta, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. said that it is necessary to show the characteristics that are the advantages of study programs with so many universities offering S2 programs.
