On February 22, 2023 a cooperation agreement was signed between the Education and Training Unit (UPDL) of PT PLN (Persero) which oversees 3 academies, namely the academy of transmission line and life working, innovation and research, health safety, security and environment. The signing was carried out by Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, MM, MSc, PhD. (Dean of FT) and PT PLN Semarang UPDL Manager, Helfberd Tampubolon. It was also witnessed by the Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, namely Aghus Sofwan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. and Head of S1 and S2 Study Programs, namely Munawar Agus Riyadi, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. and Mochammad Facta, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. and Budi Aprianda (Pusdiklat PLN). In addition, the signing was also attended by the coordinator of the electrical engineering laboratory.

This activity was followed by a field visit to PT PLN Semarang’s UPDL to review the infrastructure that supports this cooperation. The facilities available are laboratories, practical work in tension, offline/online classrooms, and conference rooms. With the cooperation agreement, it is hoped that synergies will be realized between the Department of Electrical Engineering and BUMN agencies in teaching practitioners, joint research, writing scientific papers, and community service. As Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, Aghus Sofwan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. gave a response regarding the collaboration, “This collaborative activity is part of the strategic steps of the Department of Electrical Engineering to implement various programs that are in line with the KPI. The intended target of IKU is in terms of providing opportunities for students to gain experience (interns) off campus, opportunities for lecturers of the Department of Electrical Engineering to carry out activities outside campus, as well as PLN practitioners to be able to teach in the Department of Electrical Engineering.”
